Cologne Outfit-Tipp Wiener Steffie Das Partypartnerlokal der
The Wiener Steffie
The Wiener Steffie is famous throughout the Rhine region for providing "the best night out" in Cologne.
The night-spot has excellent links to public transport in addition to its 450 in-house parking spaces. It is only a 5 minute walk to the Central Railway Station and there are a bus stop and taxi stand right outside the door, while the Heumarkt tram stop is 2 minutes away. The Wiener Steffie's location between the Old Town and the famous shopping precinct Hohe Strasse makes it popular among international visitors, who then spread its fame throughout the world.
A unique mixture of local music, oldies, German hit songs, good time music, dance music and carnival evergreens turns an evening at the tavern into an experience of fun and relaxation which visitors will always remember.
In addition to individual guests, who find the informal atmosphere ideal for making new friends, the Wiener Steffie is particularly popular with groups, who come for instance to celebrate a stag night or a birthday. Office parties, Christmas parties and lots of other such events also provide a good reason for a group visit.
Larger groups can either be integrated into a normal evening (opening nights are Fridays, Saturdays and the night before public holidays), or the tavern can be opened specially, if the group wishes to celebrate alone.
When they book their tables many groups make a point of ordering a "Pittermänchen" (a Cologne expression meaning a 10 litre keg of Kölsch beer). This is not necessary, however, since there are always enough of these kegs in stock to allow every group to pour their own beer at the table.
First-time guests from further afield are always amazed to find a tavern of this size in the Old Town of Cologne and especially delighted when they see the large dance floor.
One last tip: come to the Wiener Steffie early. In contrast to normal discotheques, its enormous popularity among all age groups means that it tends to fill up soon after 8 p.m.
